History Of The School

Vikhe Patil Memorial School, situated at Lohegaon, Pune was built under the aegis of Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation and saw its humble beginning in the year 2009 with barely 30 students. Being built on the four pillars of Empathy, Respect, Democracy and Gender Sensitivity, the institution steadily gained recognition and now stands amongst the most established and sought-after schools in Pune all due to the vision and immense guidance of the Chairman, Dr. Ashok Vikhe Patil who founded the school in memory of his grandfather, “Padma Shri Awardee”, Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil, a great visionary who worked for the upliftment of the weaker sections of society.

The Joint Secretary of the Dr. Vikhe Patil Foundation and Director of the Schools Programme, Mrs. Nandini Vikhe Patil has been the backbone of the school since its inception.

Mrs. Mrinalini Bhosale, the Founder Principal of this institution is responsible for the way the school grew in leaps and bounds thanks to her endearing nature and the bond she shared with the parents and students. She was also instrumental in helping the school get affiliation from the CBSE Board up to the Secondary Level in 2014.

Mrs. Mrinalini Bhosale who is today in charge of the Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Senapati Bapat Road, handed the reins to Mrs. Vinutha Ronurkar who was the Principal from 2017 to 2019 and the school is now headed by our current Principal, Ms. Candice Braganza.

We currently have strength of over 1200 students from Junior Kindergarten to Class X studying through the CBSE Board. The school offers a wide variety of sports and co-curricular activities that are held on the sprawling campus of five acres.

The school has a beautiful library with a large collection of books, Math and Science Labs for children to gain hands-on experience, an auditorium, an audio-visual room and spacious, well-ventilated classrooms. The entire campus is under CCTV surveillance to ensure the safety and security of our students at all times.

The holistic development of our students is catered to by the innumerable activities that the students are a part of. They are also involved in activities spanning from community service to technological development thus helping them to be in touch with their roots & at the same time reach for the stars.

Students have proved their mettle at academics too by excelling in the AISSE Board Examinations and the various Olympiads and other exams that they appear for.
